Illustrating a poem by my dad

I wrote a poem out using a Lamy Joy calligraphy pen and illustrated it for my sister’s birthday present.

Last Sunday I wrote out one of my dad’s poems using my Lamy Joy pen. I’m not very practiced at calligraphy, and so my letters vary a lot (notice the “a”s for example). But it is very satisfying using the pen and I should use it more. I should practice on my train journey to the office (when I get a seat).

I will give my sister a framed version of the original artwork, but I think my dad would like to give copies to his friends so I scanned it, took it into Procreate and added colour, and then got it printed. It came out nicely, about A5 size:

The cherry filling has come out almost black. I got some other stuff printed and the dark blue also came out almost black, so I’ll have to remember to change dark colours before getting them printed in future.
