Spiral snakes
Snakes have a very long and important association with magic, and appear in many mythologies such as the Epic of Gilgamesh and the story of Adam and Eve.
These are some experiments I did this weekend using Indian inks, Parker ink and bleach, on watercolour paper. It’s really nice painting with inks on watercolour paper, it’s very easy to get even tones and very strong blacks.
This didn’t come out quite as I had intended, it’s lacking the level of colour texture I wanted. But it’s all experimental and the more I do of this kind of thing the more I’ll be able to control the materials.
